The "getting fit" part of fitness is the simplest. That doesn't mean it is easy, because it isn't, but my approach is simple. Focusing on 3 specific areas of fitness will provide the most benefit while using your time most efficiently. The 3 areas are:
Why is this the simple part? Because life, that's why. To be successful at lifelong fitness you have to manage your life outside of the gym in a way that supports fitness. You need to:
I don't shy away from these adjacent topics in my approach with clients. In fact, I lean into these adjacent areas throughout our work to ensure adherence to your fitness plan ultimately achieve your fitness goals.

Yes, I use the Trainerize platform as a one-stop app to provide workouts, message, connect by video, and integrate data from Apple Watch, MyFitnessPal, Fitbit, Withings and others.
Yes, I train in-person at 614 Barbell in Hillard, Ohio. I also train clients from all over the US using a virtual training approach, while some clients prefer a blended virtual plus occasional in-person approach, and others are 100% in-person.
My specialty is men and women over 40 years old with complex, challenging lives who want to recapture previous levels of fitness or start building fitness from scratch. Ultimately, I want to create a lifelong adherence to fitness in my clients.
My approach is to find exercises that match both what you like to do, and accomplishes the goals of the program. You may be intimidated by free weights (at first). No problem, we can find machine resistance training or other ways to appropriately load your muscles. Hate cardio? We can find ways to elevate your heart rate in the least objectionable way. If you don't like running, there is biking, or elliptical, or a rower, or treadmill, fast walking, rucking, etc. There are many, many ways to get the benefits of exercise without hating it.
Workout programs are easy to find online. But we all know that access to information has never been the problem with fitness and health. You need a partner to work side by side with you to overcome barriers, keep engaged, troubleshoot, and yes ultimately provide workout programs.
